A Deep Tissue Discovery at Jetwing Colombo 7 Spa

As a devotee of regular deep tissue massages for workout recovery, I have my go-to spots in Colombo. My usual sanctuary, Spa Ceylon Nawala, was fully booked this week, prompting me to venture outside my comfort zone in search of relief. Conveniently located and with availability, the spa at Jetwing Colombo 7 seemed like the perfect opportunity for a new wellness experience.

My journey began with a bit of a parking challenge. The basement parking at Jetwing Colombo 7, I must say, is rather narrow. Navigating it with an SUV required some careful maneuvering, so that’s something to be aware of if you’re driving a larger vehicle.

However, once I made my way up to the spa itself, I was met with a very pleasant environment. The spa exudes a sense of modern tranquility, a welcome escape from the city bustle.

A Skilled Balinese Touch

I was fortunate to have a Balinese masseuse for my deep tissue treatment, and she proved to be exceptionally skilled. The massage was excellent – she was highly professional, demonstrating a strong understanding of anatomy and employing effective techniques to target the deep-seated tension in my muscles. It was precisely the kind of therapeutic treatment I needed to release post-workout tightness.

The Treatment Room and Amenities

The treatment room itself, while perfectly functional, was perhaps a bit minimalist in its décor. It was clean and comfortable, but lacked the distinctive character and ambiance that I’ve come to appreciate at Spa Ceylon. It was a space that “did the job” effectively, but didn’t particularly stand out.

However, the bathroom facilities were a definite highlight. Modern, spacious, and well-appointed, they added a touch of luxury to the overall experience.

Pricing and Popularity

The pricing at Jetwing Colombo 7’s spa is broadly comparable to what I typically pay for a treatment at Spa Ceylon, making it a viable alternative in that regard. I was informed that the spa is quite popular, particularly with in-house guests, and it’s easy to see why. The quality of the treatment certainly justifies its popularity.

Post-Treatment Thoughts

Following the massage, I was offered a cup of herbal tea, a standard and welcome post-treatment ritual. However, I must admit that I did miss the small plate of acharu that Spa Ceylon Nawala thoughtfully provides – a little detail that has become a cherished part of my routine.

My Verdict: A Solid Choice for Deep Tissue Relief

Overall, my experience at the spa at Jetwing Colombo 7 was a positive one. While it may not have completely replaced my affection for Spa Ceylon Nawala, the excellent deep tissue massage delivered by a skilled Balinese therapist made it a worthwhile visit. The spa offers a pleasant ambiance, and the modern, spacious bathrooms are a definite plus. If you’re seeking a reliable and effective spa treatment in Colombo, particularly if you’re staying at the hotel or find yourself in the area, I would certainly recommend it.
